Hull Vega 40 #9 1975 now called the Lisa Ann was NOT delivered as a Bare Hull. Hull #9 was delivered as a complete finished fishboat some time after the summer of 1976 and about December 1976, according to the Winter 1976-1977 edition of the Willard company news letter.
The complete fishboat design on this one was done by Klaus Grohnert, Willards Marine Engineer, it was a custom build on order for Jack Heisler of Portland Oregon. The design included a 600 cubic foot insulated fiberglass fish hold.
After the launch and shake down cruse in Newport Beach Jack Heisler sailed the boat to Portland, according to the news letter Volume 2 Number 3. There is also a picture of the completed boat in the water with Willard Engineer Klaus Grohnert, Willard Superintendent Bob Riggs and boat owner Jack Heisler standing on deck in Newport Beach.
The news letter went on to say the Vega 40 Fishboat was available in 9 stages of build all the way from a bare hull to a completed working boat. Hull #9 was delivered as a completed working boat, minus fishing nets, lines and related equipment.
